Who we are
Voyager Quest ("the Game", "we", "us") is developed and published by:

Privacy contact: privacy@caplume.com
Panouf AB is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with the Game.
Voyager Quest is a single-player game that runs on your device. Your name and your game progress are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. We do not show ads, we do not use advertising identifiers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
The only data that ever leaves your device is anonymous analytics and crash reports — and only if you choose to turn them on. You can change that choice at any time in Settings → About.
What we process, and why
1. Data stored only on your device
When you play, the Game stores the following locally on your device, and this information is not transmitted to Panouf AB:
- The traveller name you enter (first and last name).
- Your game progress: cities visited, balance, jobs, certificates, souvenirs, achievements, settings, and save slots.
Because this data stays on your device, you remain in control of it. Deleting a save slot in-game, or uninstalling the Game, removes it.
2. Optional, consent-based analytics and crash reporting
If — and only if — you opt in, the Game collects anonymous, aggregated information to help us understand how the Game is played and to fix crashes:
- Analytics: anonymous gameplay events — for example which in-game cities and regions you visit, your in-game (simulated) balance and progress, quiz and job outcomes, session length, certificates, and achievements unlocked. This is simulated game data; events contain no name, no free text, and no information that identifies you, and your traveller name never leaves your device. Our analytics and crash-reporting providers also record standard technical context — your device model and operating-system version, and your approximate country (derived from your IP address; the precise IP is discarded by the Game before transmission and is not retained by us). No advertising identifier is used and we do not track you across other apps.
- Crash reporting: technical diagnostic information when the Game crashes or encounters an error (for example device model, operating-system version, and the error/stack trace), together with a random installation identifier — a randomly generated code that is not linked to your name, email, or any account — used solely so we can tell whether a problem affects one device or many, and to diagnose and fix stability problems.
We do not collect your name, contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifiers, and we do not use this data for advertising or sell or share it with data brokers.
- Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): your consent. You provide it via the first-run prompt and can withdraw it at any time in Settings → About, with no effect on your ability to play.
- Processors: analytics is processed by Aptabase (privacy-first, no unique identifiers, configured to the EU region so data stays in the EU/EEA); crash and stability reporting is processed by Sentry, also configured to its EU ingestion region. Where a provider stores data outside the EU/EEA, that transfer is covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Retention: Sentry retains crash events for a default of 30 days, after which they are automatically purged. Aptabase events are anonymous by design, with no per-user record, and are retained only in aggregated form for product analysis.
3. Leaderboards (optional, off by default)
If you opt in via Settings → Statistics, your score (net worth and an overall "Voyager Score") and your platform gamer-tag (Apple Game Center or Google Play Games) are submitted to and displayed by those platforms, under their privacy terms. We do not store this ourselves, and your in-game traveller name is never used or sent. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
4. Data processed by the app stores
You download and pay for the Game through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Those platforms process your purchase and their own usage data under their privacy policies, which we do not control:
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
We may see only aggregated, anonymised statistics from the stores (such as total downloads or crash counts) — never your personal account details.
Children
Voyager Quest contains no violence, gambling, or profanity; its store age rating (13+ on the App Store) reflects infrequent, factual references to alcohol in quiz content, such as questions about brewing and winemaking. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The optional analytics and crash reporting are anonymous and off by default, and require an explicit opt-in. In Sweden the age of digital consent under the GDPR is 13; if you are under that age, please ask a parent or guardian before enabling any optional data collection.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Because the Game does not collect personal information that identifies you — the optional, anonymous analytics and crash reports described above contain no advertising ID and no name; the only identifier is a random installation code that cannot be linked to you — most of these rights are exercised simply by toggling consent off in Settings → About. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising. For any further request, contact privacy@caplume.com.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to withdraw consent at any time. Because gameplay data lives on your device, you can exercise most of these directly (delete saves in-game, toggle consent off). For anything else, contact privacy@caplume.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish data protection authority, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY) — imy.se.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle data, we will update this policy, revise the date above, and — where required — ask for your consent again inside the Game.
